Shop Hours - Labor Day weekend & beyond

We will be open our regular summer hours on Saturday (10 am - 4 pm) and Sunday (Noon - 4 pm), but will be closed on Labor Day Monday.

Also, starting next week we will be back to our regular hours:

Monday: Noon - 8 pm
Tuesday & Wednesday: 10 am - 6 pm
Thursday: 10 am - 8 pm
Friday & Saturday: 10 am - 5 pm
Sunday: Noon - 4pm

Brand New Magazine!

New Rowan!


The new Rowan Magazine #44 is here!
This is the 30th Anniversary issue and includes 65 designs. In this issue you will see Rowan going back to its roots with 3 stories called "Nostalgia", "Renaissance" and "Elegance".

We've also received The Cocoon Collection and The Colourscape Chunky Collection.

The Cocoon Collection uses Rowan Cocoon (with new colors this year).

The Colourscape Chunky Collection uses Colourscape Chunky yarn which is a yarn that was designed by Kaffe Fassett featuring nice vibrant colors.

Malabrigo Book


The very first Malabrigo book is here!

Malabrigo Book One by Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton features designs for women including vets, hats and scarves, sweaters and even a dress all using the wonderfully soft Malabrigo yarns - Worsted, Lace, Chunky and Gruesa. You will also find a cabled men's pullover and a striped child's pullover.

We just received our order of Hand Maiden Casbah! This is a great hand-dyed fingering weight sock yarn - the colors are spectacular and the softness is devine. 80% Merino, 10% Cashmere and 10% Nylon - 355 yards per skein - and machine washable!

If you're not a sock knitter, this would be a fabulous scarf or lace project too!

New Opal

New for Fall 2008 is the latest collection of sock yarn from Opal - Opal Hundertwasser 2.

Exuberant sock stripings in colors based on paintings by renowned Austrian artist and sculptor Friedenreich Hundertwasser. Made of 75% superwash wool and 25% polyamid, each 100-gram ball contains approx. 465 yards. Fingering weight.

Bright, fun, self-striping sock yarn = fun sock knitting!

New Arrivals

We've received the latest patterns from Chicknits!
On the left is the Basic Chic Hoodie which uses worsted weight yarn. You can make it plain or make the lacy hoodie version (as shown).
Middle pattern is the Basic Chic Pulli again using worsted weight yarn. This is knit from the top down, in the round with minimal finishing.
On the right is Cassidy. This pattern features easy cables and a patterned hood and again uses worsted weight yarn.
We also have the Eyelet Cardi and restocks of Twist (great cabled hooded cardigan).
Another new arrival this week are Patterntamers. Patterntamers are ribbon covered magnetic strips and are great for when you are working from charts. Each kit contains 3 different sizes of strips.
