Are You a Lace Knitter?

If so, we've got a new book that you should check into.....

Inside is the history of Estonian Lace, fourteen heirloom-quality lace projects for scarves and shawls, plus a stitch dictionary for additional lace patterns. There's also a section on how to design your own lace scarf or shawl.

Another great book to add to your book collection.

Proof!

Do you need proof that the Holidays are just right around the corner?

The Holiday issues of Vogue Knitting and Interweave Knits have arrived! These are chock full of smaller, do-able projects to make for the loved ones in your life!

Another great "idea" book for some gift knitting is Boutique Knits. Again - chock full of great patterns for knitted accessories.
There are 20+ patterns - loads of hats, neck warmers, fingerless gloves, scarves and more.

One more book that we received today is "It Itches" by Franklin Habit. Fun cartoons and essays about knitting - this is a great one for yourself, but would also make a fabulous gift for a knitter-friend!

Get those needles clicking!!! The Holidays are COMING!

New Class / New Kit

You've been asking for it and we now have it added to our class schedule - STEEKING!

You'll work on a Fair Isle vest and steek the arm holes and neck line. Check out all of our current classes here.

We've had the Fleece Artist Imogen kit on order forever, but it has finally arrived. This is knit out of Fleece Artist Aran Alpaca (an awesomely soft yarn) in the Hercules coloway.
This one is knit sideways from sleeve to sleeve and is absolutely stunning.

More Stuff

More fall/winter inventory is arriving and the latest is the Nashua Handknits Magazine!

This is broken down into 3 different "chapters". The first is Harvest which features garments sized for the entire family. The second section is Office which features garments for today's working woman. The last section is Natural Focus which features earth friendly fashion.

Another new yarn in the shop is Nashua Geologie. This is a great light and airy self-striping yarn that knits as a worsted weight yarn. There is great pattern support in the Nashua Handknits Geologie book.

October Already?

I don't know about you, but I can not believe that we are now into October. Where does the time go?

September was a busy month with all the new inventory coming in. We actually are still receiving more, so keep checking back to keep up to date on all the new stuff.

Don't forget - this Friday night is Friday Night SP-IT Nite (SP-IT = SPin - knIT - we've changed the name since there are some that stay beyond Open Spinning in the afternoon and spin into the evening). If you'll be coming Friday night, send me a note or comment here so I have an idea of how many of you to expect - 6 - 8 pm.

I'm enjoying the cooler days and evenings - makes me think of what projects to cast on! My list is long and I also have a goal this winter of spinning a sweater's quantity of yarn. How about you? What are your knitting/crocheting/spinning plans for the fall/winter season?
