Box of Books.....

Well - I think we've been keeping Mr. UPS busy this week!

Another box was dropped off this morning - this one full of BOOKS!

I know we've got quite a few sock knitters, and quite a few of you are fans of two-at-a-time. We just received the new book, Knitting More Circles Around Socks. What's nice about this one is you can do Toe Up or Cuff Down! Patterns for men, women and children.

Berroco For Fall IS HERE

I mentioned last week that we would be receiving our Berroco Fall order and it showed up today - All 4 big boxes of it!

Of course, we have the latest books from Berroco including the Norah Gaughan Vol. 5 and Norah Gaughan Men.
And did I mention that we have YARN????

We brought in Blackstone Tweed which is a lovely worsted weight tweed yarn without the harsh tweed feel - this one is super soft.

Vintage Wool is another worsted weight yarn. At first glance, this one looks almost like Cascade 220 with almost the same yardage. However, unlike Cascade 220, this one can be machine washed! It contains wool, acrylic and nylon, but feels extremely nice to the touch (and without the acrylic squeek, if you know what I mean).

Another new one is Sundae for your instant gratification projects. The recommended gauge is 2.5 stitches per inch on a US #15 needle, so any project with this yarn will be quick. Don't forget to check out the pattern book that goes along with this yarn.

For those of you that just can not wear wool, but would love to wear hand-knit socks, we have some Comfort Sock yarn in stock. Great self-striping sock yarn, but there is no wool content what-so-ever!

Of course, we've added more colors in Ultra Alpaca, Peruvia, Peruvia Quick, and the Comfort yarns.

Shhhhh....Heads up!

(Or Feet up, as the case may be!)
More Zauberball will be arriving this coming week!

Keep checking the shop blog - I'll make sure to let everyone know when it arrives.

This just in.....well, in on Friday!

We got in a long-awaited box of Pagewood Farm yarn yesterday at the shop. (Of course, those that were at the shop for Friday Afternoon SP-IT got to raid the box and bring some goodies home with them!)

This time around we brought in a different sock yarn from Pagewood Farm - Denali. This one is supersoft, 80% Merino Superwash Wool, 20% Nylon, and 450 yards per hank.

We also have more of their Willow Creek laceweight in the 8 oz. hanks. That's 1350 yards of nummy lace weight yarn for your summer lace project!

Berroco for Fall......is on the way!

It's been several months since the Fall/Winter yarn ordering was begun. I always look forward to the winter knitting season - love the wools, and tweeds, and nice warm sweater patterns, snuggly scarves, etc. One of the lines that I was very excited about when I saw the patterns/yarns is Berroco! When I originally placed my order with the rep, I asked for a ship date in mid-August, but because of my excitement of the patterns (the Norah Gaughan book is awesome) and the yarns, I've moved up the shipping date and just got notification that it is shipping and should arrive around the 29th of June. Of course, it will probably take me a day or two to get everything inventoried and out, but at least it is ON THE WAY!

Getting Ready for WWKIP Day

Some of you might be asking, what is WWKIP?

World Wide Knit In Public Day!

Why not join us on Saturday, June 20th from 1 - 4 at the shop and Knit In Public with us! We'll take over the sidewalk in front of the shop and knit, spin, or crochet. Please bring your project, a lawn chair and if you can, a snack or dessert to share (we LOVE food!). Cold beverages (sorry - non alcoholic) will be provided.

Hope to see you Saturday!

Making Room....

Even though it is only June, we'll soon start to receive some of our Fall/Winter yarns (I'm excited about what will be showing up - there's some great stuff coming!).

That means that we need to make room and that means that you get to save!

To start, all Louisa Harding yarns and books are 30% off our marked price! (If you are ordering online, your discount will be taken when we process the order.)

We also have
Berroco Mica yarn at 25% off.

Soft as Silk!

It's time to show off another new yarn to the shop -
Misti Alpaca's Pima Cotton & Silk Hand Paint! Absolutely beautiful yarn, with the great hand painted colorways that Misti does so well. And did I mention how soft it is? This is a nice DK weight yarn with a blend of 83% Pima Cotton and 17% Silk and would be wonderful for a nice summer tank, cardigan, scarf, or even a summer weight Clapotis!

Another Great SP-IT Nite!

Thanks everyone who came for SP-IT Nite (or SP-IT Afternoon!).

We had a good crowd (almost ran out of chairs!) and a great time. I'm looking forward to the next one in August (no SP-IT for July since it falls on the 4th of July weekend).

SP-IT Nite Again!

Wow - I can't believe that it is June already. (Before you know it, we'll be talking State Fair and that always signals the end of summer for me!).

This Friday Night, June 5th, is our monthly Friday Night SP-IT Nite. For those of you who aren't familiar, we host a Spinning and Knitting event the first Friday of each month. Bring your knitting, spinning or crochet project, a snack to share (if you can - this is NOT required), and enjoy a nice afternoon/evening with others that share your hobby. Remember - there is NO CHARGE for this event. People start coming in around 2:00 and you can stay until 8 pm.
