Do you like your bags to have lots of pockets? Give this one a try! This is a felted bag that can be knit in a 2 color scheme or 1 color - your choice. Description:
Have you wanted to learn how to knit, but you want to start out with a small project? A scarf is the perfect beginning project. Once you learn the 2 basic stitches in knitting, you will create a "sampler" scarf using a combination of them. This class will meet 3 times with plenty of time between classes for knitting. At the first class we will discuss yarns and needle selection, then get you started. Pattern will be provided as part of class fee.
Required Materials:
Worsted or sport weight yarn (must be purchased at the shop) and needles appropriate to yarn weight. First night of class will include choosing yarn and needles.

Description:
Looking to knit a cabled hoodie sweater? This sweater is knit as a cardigan with cabled patterns on the body and sleeves. The sample sweater is knit with a hood, but you have the option to knit it with a collar. This is your chance to improve your cabling and finishing skills. Knit the sweater this summer in the air conditioned store and have a great sweater finished just in time for fall! Pattern is "Twist" from ChicKnits and is purchased separately.

Are you ready to try your first sweater? If so, this is the class for you. Not only will you have completed a great sweater but you will also learn many techniques during the construction of this sweater. Best of all, there is virtually no finishing once you are all done knitting. This pattern is adaptable to any yarn and gauge. Have you wondered what all the fuss about Continental Knitting or "picking" vs "throwing" is all about? Come and learn a very efficient (some may even say faster) way to knit and purl that offers many advantages for texture and color knitting. This shawl has an unusual shape and is done in garter stitch for easy knitting. Knit in the basic pattern, the end result is a simple shawl but choose to add a lace variation and you can have an elegant shawl. This pattern uses a wide range of yarn types. Do you want to try lace but are afraid of that teeny tiny yarn? Make it bigger and get a beautiful round lap blanket. Must be comfortable with circular needles and with knit, purl, increase and decrease stitches. Economical project!

2 skeins of Cascade Eco Wool (must be purchased at the shop), Size 10 circular needles (40" or longer), 16 stitch markers, row counter (optional but helpful), smooth scrap yarn (like cotton).

Description:
Turn a single skein of Malabrigo Merino Worsted into a beautiful pair of cozy felted slippers! You will learn a felted slipper pattern based on a simple sock shape. In the first class you will get started knitting the slipper. You will complete the knitting and felt your slippers at home between the 2 and 3rd class. The third class will cover all the finishing steps to add the soles and any embellishments you like. Included in the class fee are materials needed to add a leather outer sole and a padded inner sole.
Required Materials:
One skein Malabrigo worsted (must be purchased at the shop), 1 set US #10.5 double points and 16" #10.5 circular needle.

What better item to learn to knit then a mitten for a Minnesota winter. Come join us and learn how to make mittens using 2 colors with a Norwegian motif. Knitters should be comfortable on double points or 12" circular needles. You will be learning how to carry yarns in both hands to aid in knitting with 2 colors. Pattern provided as part of class fee. Class meets on Thursdays, May 1st, May 8th and May 15th from 6 - 8 pm.
Required Materials:
2 colors of DK or worsted weight yarn (Yarn must be purchased at the shop). Sample is done in Peer Gynt. Double point or 12" circular needle needed to get required gauge.

Want to learn how to knit a sock that really fits? This class will teach you the basics of knitting socks. We will discuss all the components of a sock and how to fit it to the wearer. Knitters should have some experience with double point needles or short circular needles. Class handout will include a basic sock pattern. Yarn to be used should be either sock or sport weight. Class meets for 3 sessions on Monday July 21, July 28 & August 4 from 6 - 8 pm.
