Weaving II.
Class meets Saturday, May 18th from 10:30 - 12:30. (Class meets for 1 session.)
You now know how to direct warp your rigid heddle loom and can weave a basic weave structure. Are you asking yourself, "Now what"?
Join us as we get started exploring different weave structures that you can do with your rigid heddle loom.
Our first project will be Brook’s Bouquet scarf. This technique involves wrapping weft yarn around groups of warp yarn to create a open, lace or textured fabric.
Supplies:
For a more lacy design use sock weight yarn with an 12 dent heddle. For a more textured design use worsted weight or sport weight on an 8 dent heddle. There are samples in the store to give show off each weight yarn.
Smaller width rigid heddle loom
8 or 12 dent heddle depending on desired effect
400 yards of sock/fingering or sport/worsted weight yarn (must be purchased at the shop)
One medium to small shuttle
